1/31/2019 Instagram Marketing notes

Short Sweet Bio (with link).
BRAND yourself. Web page, blog, etc. all have same name.
Call to action.

Remember, people aren’t searching for you, they are searching for something, so make your Bio something about THEM. Like instead of entrepreneur, make it entrepreneur tips.

Make ’em laugh.

“Trick of the day” or some such.
Bitly.com -> Tracks clicks, simplifies URL. Link maps?
Possibly use emojies in text.

Email marketing service such as “get response.”
Give out something free to capture their emails. “Lead magnet.”

People want to see themselves!
Post their videos or images… Possibly have your biz cards that lead to their clip when you are in the field. Or something collaborative.

Connect to other social media popular people.
Buy shoutouts from social media influencers from shoutcart.com.

1 to 2 posts a day. 8am-9am and another post at 2am.
Outside of business hours.
Videos at 0pm Eastern Standard.
Monday and Thursday are best days to post.

Follow the best people, do what they do.

Demographics of users:
61% 18 – 34
7% more females than males.

Only post about products or sales every 20 or 30 posts.

Socialblade for analytics.

Unfollow people who don’t follow you back.

You want them to click to your thing as fast as possible, so use text over images (instagram does not let you put links in descriptions, but you can link to the photo).

Use hashtags. It’s just about the only way they’ll find you.
Use explore to see what similar people are using for hashtags and dive in.
Use different hashtags to reach different groups.

Have content that’s sharable. Share it.
Pass along.

All sharing is resharing. If it works, make more of it.

MAKE IT A STORY. TELL A STORY.

Small wins over time. Slow and steady wins the race like you said.

SEO Tips 1_21_2019

Use Featured Snippets to steel traffic from the mega sites.
I.E. “What is a tDCS unit?”  A tDCS unit is designed to make frogs grow.
By having a brief, full question and answer, a search engine might use it when someone types that exact query.  (11% of searches lead to a snippet!)
Also, 20% of mobile searches are voice searches.  So, short answers that come up fast like these are what mobile apps favor for voice searches.

More links is good, but quality relevant links are more important.  Google’s new AI “Penguin” checks relevance of links!!!!

Link to videos, and include links in the videos and comments you have everywhere back to your page.
Google owns youtube, and WANTS you to drive traffic to their youtube ads, hence, better position.

Meta descriptions in the program still count!

Maching keywords to content is important, but Google’s AI can tell if you’re fudging!
Sentences containing keywords must make sense and be descriptive, or you will be penalized.

The H1 is part of your CSS and is still important.

Google’s AI amazingly looks for “good user experience.”  So, a flashy, modern site is actually a plus for position! This also includes making sure images are optimized (minimum size for fast loading!!!  And, other good web design practices.
