1/2/2019 Model Photo Tips

Model photography tips.

Eyes: Have them squint. Preferably by raising their lower eyelid.
Squinting makes the viewer feel like the model is focusing on them.

Mouth: Temperature gauge of expression.
Cold, and your lips are sealed.
Warm, and very big smile.
Strongest pose is mouth slightly parted, smile just starting to show teeth.
So, if I say “warm it up” or “cool it down” you know what I mean.

Hair, split the hair so straight on, you see hair both sides of shoulders. But, don’t obscure features like face or chest. If shooting side angle, hair off the shoulder closest to you.

Confidence in posture. Shoulders back, arch back, butt out.

Feet. Up on toes, point toes. Like “Barbie feet.”

Dynamic body angles. Hips, shoulders, not straight lines.
Exaggerate poses. Hips to the side, “if you feel uncomfortable, you’re probably doing it right.”

Don’t lose any limbs. If an arm disappears behind her body, reposition it.
Tops of hands or palms not as attractive as side of hands.
Cuppy hands. Not too straight. Avoid sprawled ands hands on legs.

Trying to make the model as long and tall as possible. Don’t point limbs of knees at the camera.

When you like the pose, you can have the model turn away from the camera a bit and get the pose from several angles.

Use hashtags. It’s just about the only way they’ll find you.
Use explore to see what similar people are using for hashtags and dive in.
Use different hashtags to reach different groups.

Have content that’s sharable. Share it.
Pass along.

All sharing is resharing. If it works, make more of it.

MAKE IT A STORY. TELL A STORY.
